Workshop Descriptions

WJIV Training

*Please note: This workshop teaches WJIV plus NILD Canada’s testing protocols. It is important for EVERY therapist to receive this training as we are now requiring therapists to send in their yearly test results to NILD Canada database.

This workshop is designed to provide NILD Educational Therapists training in administration, scoring and interpretation of the WJ-IV Tests of Achievement and Oral Language. The content focuses on theoretical background, technical overview, basal and ceiling rules, computing raw scores, obtaining estimated and grade-equivalent scores, administration of new tests, using the new online scoring and building examiner competency.

Prerequisite: Level I Educational Therapy training

Transitioning the Young Child into NILD Educational Therapy™

This workshop provides the tools to guide young children into NILD Educational Therapy using developmentally appropriate activities and techniques. Do you have students either completing the TEACH® program or perhaps they have come to you already too advanced for TEACH® but they are still not quite ready for the full NILD Educational Therapy™ model? We know that early intervention is vital and very effective. This training will equip the experienced Educational Therapist to successfully benefit and support this population, including ways to modify NILD techniques based on the needs of the young learner.

This is a 4 hour long workshop.

Prerequisite: Level II Educational Therapy Training

ET2 Workshop

This workshop teaches therapists how to modify their therapy sessions to include 45 minutes sessions twice a week. ET2 may be offered for students with few deficits, as a wrap-up year after full –time therapy or for families with limited resources. This workshop will include a modified manual along with sample reporting records, progress charts, RW worksheets and much more. Come and learn how to enhance your therapy time for students who need this type of modified therapy.

This is a 2.5 hour long workshop.

Prerequisite: Level I Educational Therapy Training with 1 year experience
